So why not start that bright future as early as possible? When thinking of care, education, and support, one could think of the Brighton Center. With a mission to help children of all ages and abilities, the Brighton Center came to San Antonio in 1969, being one of the leading organizations to evoke change in the ever-evolving space of early childhood development. Over the past 54 years, the Brighton Center has developed pediatric therapy services, parent workshops, and early childhood education at the Brighton Preschool.Just a stone’s throw away from the Stone Oak area is the state-of-the-art Brighton Preschool Higgins Campus which includes a newly renovated infant classroom. There are two San Antonio Brighton Preschool locations, making it convenient and accessible to all families so their child to receive the best education possible in an optimal learning environment.Michelle Rivera, Vice President of Education at the Brighton Center, explained Brighton Preschool’s method of individualizing each child’s curriculum tohelp them become the best they can be. “Brighton Preschool is so unique because we have low ratios [of students to teachers] and use a child-centered approach,” explained Rivera. “We maintain those low ratios so our teachers can build a relationship and know where the child is at emotionally, developmentally, and socially. We use a child-centered approach to watch what the children develop an interest in. The teachers then bring those things into the environment because it fosters curiosity, and when children are curious, they areengaged and learning.”Along with their small classes andchild-centered approach, Brighton Preschool works hard to create an inclusive environment for all their students by not only actively incorporating, but encouraging all abilities to be included in the classroom. “All children have the ability to learn and to excel,” said Rivera. “Regardless of ability, we ensure that every child who comes to us is well cared for and well educated. We provide all the support services they need for an individualized curriculum.”So, if anyone knows a thing or two about early childhood development, it’s Brighton Preschool. With their child-centered approach and individualized curriculums, Brighton children become well-rounded in all aspects of life – academically, socially, emotionally, and developmentally.“We have all the resources and tools you could possibly need for early childhooddevelopment,” said Rivera. The Brighton Preschool Higgins locationis currently accepting new students starting at the age of six weeks old through five years old.
