Outstanding Athlete : RC WagnerOutstanding Athlete : Emi DuranteBEy Sally Kalosmilee (Emi) Durante, a senior at Ronald Reagan High School, plays Midfield for the girls’ soccer team.Starting soccer at just four years old, she has always been surrounded by a soccer-loving family, with her parents as her primary inspiration. Their unwavering support has created an environment where she can thrive. Emi’s accomplishments include attending U.S. ID camps, playing soccer overseas in Spain and Peru, and committing to continue her athletic career at St. Mary’s University. At school, she is also involved in the Spanish Honor Society.After graduation, Emi plans to major in Psychology and play soccer at St. Mary’s University. Her advice for underclassmen is to enjoy the present, as time flies, and to embrace risks and new experiences. She encourages students to step out of their comfort zones, as these moments can lead to unexpected rewards.For Emi, soccer is more than a sport—it's about enjoying the game, playing alongside friends, and seeing others appreciate her style on the field. She believes that accountability, hard work, and humility are key to success in both sports and life. Her journey reflects dedication, passion, and the belief that persistence brings great results.By Sally KalosR C Wagner, a senior at Ronald Reagan High School, plays Tight End for the football team. His passion for football started at a young age, inspired by his dad and family, who have been his role models throughout hisjourney.RC’s achievements include beingon Varsity football and track since his sophomore year. He earned All-District Honorable Mention Tight End last season, was a 2x Area Qualifier, and 1x Regional Finalist in Shotput. He was also named Academic All-District for football and was a Varsity starting Tight End on last season’s district runner-up team.In addition to football and track, RC has served as the 7-on-7 middle school head coach. Though he is unsure of which college he will attend, he is considering pursuing Pre-Med Health Science and is open to playing sports at the collegiate level.RC advises his peers to always pursue their passions, regardless of the doubts or opinions of others. One of his favorite memories is scoring his first touchdown against Steele, diving into the end zone.To succeed in football, RC believes a hard-working mentality, smart decision- making, and relentless effort are crucial.
