It’s known that children need2-4 hours of play per day! When did you stop playing? Indeed, as you get older, you do not need to stop playing. Play helps reduce stress. Play helps improve creativity, health and strengthen relationships. Play is important for your over-all well-being. Read on...Here are some tips for you and yours to stay active during your Summer Months:First, drink plenty of water. Our bodies are 60% water. Hydrate often ~ if you wait until you are thirsty it’s too late. Don’t forget electrolytes as well. Healthy snacks are important as well.Second, engage in some form of activity daily ~ put down the electronics and move! You need at least 30 minutes of moderate physical activity daily. You can maintain a healthy weight for our height and body type throughout our lives. Balance activity and food intake. Calories in Energy out.Third, use safety measures ~ play it safe by wearing a helmet when bicycling, roller skating, or skate-boarding. Wear proper fitting shoes with padding.Insert picture>>child and older adult wearing a helmet – if possible ;)Fourth, use plenty of sunscreen and sunglasses to protect your skin and eyes. Reapply sunscreen frequently. Wear a hat, sunglasses, & apply bug spray.Fifth, eat nutritious, quality foods! Theseoriginated in ancient China, with their earliest forms thought to be made from bamboo stalks thrown into a fire. Fireworks ultimately evolved into gunpowder-filled paper tubes. Modern fireworks still largely use traditional gunpowder as well as additional ingredients like aluminum and iron to create flashes, bangs and sparks. Additional elements are blended to create the colors that make for vivid fireworks displays.Fireworks can be a wonder to behold, but there is no denying that shooting them off can be dangerous business. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission reports that eight deaths and an estimated 9,700 injuries involving fireworks occurred in 2023. Of the eight deaths, five were associated with misuse of fireworks and two with a device malfunction.
