I was excited to see the networking component.”Corrine is fascinated by computers and technology, so she enrolled in NEISD’s Institute of CyberSecurity & Innovation. The high school magnet school program provides students with hands-on experience and practice with networking and defending technology from cyberattacks. Corrine has already earned two industry-based certifications (IBC) thanks to her coursework. She competes for the Rattler CrossCountry Team and Distance Track Team. Since she can remember, she has enjoyed running - starting from when she was young and would enter fun races with her grandpa. “I’ve always enjoyed running since I was little,” she said. “When I started running competitively in middle school, I realized that I also really liked the competitive part of it.” In High School, Addie has also enjoyed the camaraderie of the Reagan Team. She loves training and racing with them as well as creating memories off the course like swimming in a river after a meet and the antics of overnight competitions.However, the running trail has not always been easy. “A big challenge for me was when I had an injury and was not able to run,” she said. “It was hard because I really wantedtorunbutknewIcouldn’t.”Looking back, Addie recognizes that being forced to take that time off helped her become stronger mentally.Addie has a lot of role models, but she really looks up to her dad who still runs. “I love going on runs with him knowing that he still enjoys the sport now,” she said. “I really love running and want to make thea 10-person table, $25,000 in casino chips and MORE!
