Addison Cruzen : A Journey of Dedication and GrowthBernardo Gordoa : A Rising Star On & Off The Soccer FieldBy Sally KalosA ddison Cruzen, a senior at Ronald Reagan High School, plays Center Back for the school’s soccer team. She began her soccer journey at just four years old, inspired by the people and experiences that shaped her along the way. Her teammates and coaches have been a constant source of motivation, pushing her to grow both on and off the field. While victories are rewarding, it’s the friendships, travels, and shared moments with her teamthat mean the most.Her accomplishments include:District 28-6A All-District Honorable Mention (Sophomore & Junior Years), District 28-6A Academic All-District (All Seasons),2022-2023 ECNL 2nd Team All-Conference. Beyond soccer, Addison is a member of the National Honor Society. She will be attending The Citadel, where she plans to play Division 1 soccer and pursue a degreein Business/Marketing.Her advice to fellow students? “Embraceevery moment—high school goes by faster than you think. In the end, it’s about the memories, the people, and the lessons you learn.”One of her favorite memories is celebrating big wins on the bus. “We blast music, sing at the top of our lungs, anddance in the aisles. It’s about the bond we share as a team.”Addison believes success in soccer—and life—requires discipline, perseverance, and teamwork. “Leadership and lifting others up make all the difference. His passion for the sport began at just four years old with SA UnitedSoccer Club.Inspired by his mother, who continuouslypushes him to be his best, Bernardo has already achieved notable success. His accomplishments include being named Reagan High School Offensive MVP and earning First Team All-District 28-6A honors for the 24/25 season.Beyond soccer, Bernardo is actively involved in Reagan’s National Honor Society and studies German. While he has yet to decide on a college, he plans to major in business and hopes to continue playing soccer at the collegiate level.One of his favorite soccer memories is scoring two goals in his final MLS Next game to secure a 2-0 victory.
