Flamingos: Coming Soon To A Yard Near You!Submitted By Johnson TheatreGet ready to witness a sea of pink around the Northeast community as Johnson High School Theatre proudly presents their annual Flamingo Flocking Fundraiser – a whimsical and fun- filled event that’s sure to turn heads and spark laughter throughout the month of April!Imagine waking up to your yard adorned with 25 to 50 fabulous flamingos, set up in secret the night before by the Johnson Theatre student flocking team. It’s not just a playful prank; it’s a chance to spread joy, welcome someone to the neighborhood, or celebrate special occasions.“I love seeing the flocks pop up throughout the month at homes, schools, and even some businesses!” says SarahPolson, Johnson Theatre Booster Club member and official Keeper of the Flock. “Neighbors will send flocks back and forth to each other. Some of the school principals have even gotten in on the action and turned it into a flocking rivalry. It is such a fun way to welcome spring while supporting the fantastic productions that Johnson Theatre has to offer.”Serving as a beacon of creativity and talent within the community, Johnson High School’s theater program exposes students to all aspects of theatrical production - acting, set design, makeup, sound, lighting, directing, and costumes - while providing the community with quality performances that inspire, engage, and entertain. Funds raised from Flamingo Flocking supportproduction costs, supplies, workshops, and competitive trips that further enrich the rigorous curriculum. For just $25, students will set up a flamboyance of flamingos at your chosen location. Flocks stay up for 24 hours, removed by students the following day just as stealthily as they arrived. Be part of the feathered phenomenon, while supporting a dedicated team of high school students working hard to preserve and promote the performing arts.Visit www.johnsontheatre.com for more information and to place your order.Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas Turns 100GBy Sarah Carlsonirl Scouts of Southwest Texas willcelebrate its 100th anniversaryMarch 11, and the council has events planned this year for girls throughout its 21-county area.“Our rich history inspires us to learn from the girls and women who came before us and built this organization into what it is today,” said Stephanie Finleon Cortez, Chief Development and Communications Officer for GSSWT.“We look back to honor them, and we look forward as we carry their legacies with us and build our own.
