Her nonprofit focuses on repurposing leftover food from restaurants to feed homeless individuals and has expanded to include collecting wound care supplies for underprivileged communities.Motivated by the stark visibility of homelessness and food insecurity in downtown San Antonio, Anushka was moved to act after sharing leftover food from a family dinner with homeless individuals. This act of kindness sparked the idea for Dream Donations, realizing the profound impact of direct assistance on those struggling daily.Dream Donations collaborates with entities like University Hospital, Christus Santa Rosa, and VAYU Advanced Wound Clinics and Hyperbarics, encouraging them to donate surplus medical supplies. The organization also works with local shelters and clinics, including SAM Ministries, Seton Home, Broken Warrior Angels, and Corazon Ministries in San Antonio, ensuring that donations reach those in need.Dream Donations is actively seeking volunteers and donations of unused and unopened wound care supplies. Community members can contribute by connecting the organization with wound care clinics willing to donate surplus items or host collection boxes. Churches, community centers, and corporations are also ideal partners for setting up donationAnushka is providing skin care products to the Seton Home (teenage mothers shelter)boxes. Donations can be dropped off at 11802 Warfield St #200, San Antonio, TX 78216, or picked up by volunteers. In addition to her nonprofit work, Anushka is a dedicated tennis player on her school’s varsity team and has been a Girl Scout for 13 years, experiences that continue to inspire her commitment to community service.Running Dream Donations has profoundly impacted Anushka, merging her interests in social welfare and medicine—an invaluable experience for her future medical career. It has taught her the importance of gratitude and the significant difference small acts of kindness can make in the lives of others.
