WDear Community,e asked the community to send in letters of appreciation of their moms and it’s something we enjoy doing the last several years. You can read the submissions in this issue. We hope this Mother’s Day, if you are a mom or have played the role as mom to someone, that your day is special with your loved ones. Being a mom and grandma has been the biggest blessing in my life and I hope I leave memories they can look back on with smiles and laughter and remember how much they were loved. My mom will be 78 this coming summer. It is hard to believe time has passed by so quickly. She has been one tough cookie that has endured challenges to her health the last couple of years, but she keeps going and I admire that she tries to accomplish something each day. She had hip surgery late 2022 and pushed through her physical therapy sessions and even in pain, she tried to do something whether it’s making a meal, helping a neighbor or friend, or doing house chores. Today, she has picked up her paint brushes and is trying to learn new techniques to sharpen her painting skills. If you ever stop by her home, you will be in for a treat as she always has something delicious to eat. That’s one talent I did not inherit. She can cook like no one’s business!Looking back over the years, she was onethat kept busy and worked hard. She is an incredible strong, talented woman who has worn different hats in her life. She has been an inspiration and one I admire. What I love and appreciate about my mom is her determination to keep moving forward. She does not give up. I also appreciate her being one of my biggest cheerleaders and supporter with some of my crazy business ideas and being there through my journey of life whether good, challenging, or sad. She never left me alone. My husband, Ronnie, lost his mom October 2015. She was 89 years old. She was a wonderful mother and mother-in-law. We loved her smile and sense of humor. As a young boy, he remembers how she always made sure his clothes were ready for school. He loved the five – layered chocolate cakes she made for him- just because. Andhe valued how supportive she was of his love of music as he spent many hours at band practice during high school. She was his biggest cheerleader and was even a band mom herself. What he treasures about her was her kindness, her laughter, and her spirit of gratitude. She was loved by all and never said a negative word about someone. She is missed greatly. We hope this Mother’s Day brings joy and lots of love to all mothers, grandmothers and any women who fill this nurturing role.We also want to congratulate all who are graduating from high school or college this month. We wish you much success in your life. We know mom is proud of you!!Sincerely,Ronnie & Gina BarberaPublishersHonoring Our MomsHighlightSPublications PublisherPRODUCTIONS, LLCBringing Business & Community Together20079 Stone Oak Parkway Suite 1105-195San Antonio, TX 78258 Office: 210-548-6448 Fax: 210-595-1654Advertisingsales@highlightspub.com 210-548-6448Article Submissionsinfo@highlightspub.comDirect mailed to 78023, 78253, 78258, 78070, 78163 and select routes in 78260.
