The tradition of the Helotes Court began in 1967, offering young ladies scholarships and teaching them the value of community service.The Miss Helotes Scholarship Pageant for 2024 will be held on April 26 at Pedrotti’s Ranch, organized by the Helotes Festival Association. The new reign will coincide with Cornyval, taking place from May 2 to May 5, 2024. This tradition, celebrating 58 years, continues to support numerous nonprofits and provide families with a fun festival experience.As April arrives, so does Fiesta®! This annual event not only touches the lives of San Antonio residents but also those nearby. The tradition dates to 1891 when The Daughters of the Republic of Texas adorned themselves and their carriages with flowers to honor the heroes of the Alamo and the Battle of San Jacinto.Fiesta runs from Thursday, April 18, 2024, to Sunday, April 28, 2024. Beyond the Battle of Flowers, popular events include the Fiesta Flambeau parade, Oyster Bake, Fiesta Arts Fair, and Night in Old San Antonio. By checking the events, there is sure to be an event you will want to experience. There are more than 100 Fiesta events, including parades, culinary pop ups, exhibits, observances and more.Fiesta medals, a cherished tradition, are created each year to celebrate Fiesta San Antonio.
