Over the next 15 years, she sharpened her skills in both Houston and San Antonio, eventually playing a key role in establishing San Antonio’s first Warm Springs Rehabilitation Hospital. Her dedication to education shaped the next generation of physical therapists through her teaching roles at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Galveston and San Antonio. She also helped launch two Doctor of Physical Therapy programs—one at the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio and another at West Coast University in California.Throughout her career, Annnoticed that many older adults werefalling or were at high risk of falls. Determined to address this critical issue, she pursued advanced studies, earning a Ph.D. in Movement Science from UT Austin and a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Montana.
