At STAGE, actors aren’t just recognized; they are celebrated in an Olympic style. Medals range from Honorable Mention Awards to the coveted Gold. It’s notable that every actor who has taken part in the season’s productions is qualified for these awards.What ensures the credibility of these awards is the stringent judging process. An independent panel of judges, without any affiliations to the production or any relationship to the actors and directors, are entrusted with this significant task. Should they engage in any show during the season, they forfeit their right to vote. A mandatory requirement is that they watch every show of the season, with failure to do so leading to disqualification. Awarded by the directors of their respective shows, this category celebrates everyone from stage managersto costume artists. This year’s awardees include Laurie Sanders, Laura Gotlieb, Jeff Oates, Elisabeth Steigelman, and Dawn Zinn for their commendable roles in various shows.The crème de la crème of awards, the ST Genesius Award, commemorates individuals who selflessly contribute their time and effort towards STAGE for a season. It’s the cherry on top and is the concluding award of the ceremony. This award, chosen by the STAGE Board of Directors, is truly special.
