An AP World History teacher, Mrs. Kemp has a knack for inspiring and influencing students to find passion in History both in and out of the classroom. Her class has attended local military and air shows within the community and recently she took several students to Austin where they toured the capital, met with local government officials, and sat in on law sessions that dealt with school reform among other educational issues. These excursions bring life to what otherwise would be just pages in a bookand this helps to reach struggling students. She has compassion and empathy for her students which is obvious as she reaches out to them with reminder texts about safe driving and making good and wise choices. All of this is done while also raising her own young family while her military husband is deployed. As one parent, Tenielle Fountain, states, “Mrs. Kemp is always there for our kids. She goes the extra mile for every single one of them. In a world where teachers have lost commitment and value and connection with their students, I love that she supports my daughter on a daily basis.”Mrs. Kemp truly has a calling in life and that is to teach and inspire young minds, many who now want to major in political science and history in college.BSB Chamber recognizes teacher, Kesa KempSuper Star Teacher of Pieper High School - Nydia HerzogBy Georgia JenningsT he Science Department at Pieper High School has a supportive team leader in Nydia Herzog, and the Bulverde Spring Branch Area Chamber of Commerce recognizes her as a Super Star Teacher.
