Candidates - continued from page 8County since 2001 of volunteering and serving on almost 2 dozen local boards and 2 state boards, the job experience I have in the public and nonprofit sectors, the connections and contacts I have, the knowledge of state statutes, and time spent working on local issues with constituents through Representative Biedermann and Senator Campbell’s offices.How can you better serve the Commissioner’s Court?Yannuzzi: I will bring a perspective to the Court that’s not just on local issues, but also state and federal.What goals do you have for the Commissioner’s Court?Yannuzzi: I would love to be able to deep dive into the limited toolbox that Commissioners have for property development. Through my problem-solving skills I will explore ways to slow down and manage our growth. What creative actions do you think the Commissioner’s Court can support for impacting the water and growth crisis being experienced within our County and how would you support management of record residential growth?Yannuzzi: I want it known that I am a strong landowner supporter. However, we must find ways to not only protect the landowner, but the County and the limited natural resources we have. This is not an anti-growth statement; it is a positive, managed growth statement. As mentioned earlier, I think studying the County’s existingTElection for Comal County Republican Party Chairour State Republican Executive Committee (SREC) members, the RPT and Texas legislators. I’ve served as an election judge and through working and volunteering with the County party I’m aware of the issues at hand. I attend and support all the local clubs and organizations in the county. I also have previously served as a County Chair and managed a campaign for U.S. Congress. I signed a pledge to fully support the principles and platform of the Republican Party of Texas.How can you better serve the County GOP?Montgomery: Provide in-depth training for precinct chairs so that they have the tools and knowledge to be effective within their precinct. Regularly reach out to voters with information about the current issues, to include “call to action” for legislative issues and researched and informative voter guides. Launch a well-organized “Get Out the Vote” campaign for each election season.What goals do you have for the County Party?Montgomery: Increase conservative voter knowledge and turnout while engaging citizens to build an active grassroots network. Work with neighboring County Parties to strengthen conservative presence in the surrounding counties.What makes your candidacy different from your opponent?Montgomery: I think “out of the box” and am always open to better ways of accomplishing goals. I work closely withthe State Republican Executive Committee (SREC) and make frequent visits to the State Capitol to inform legislators of what we support locally.What would you do differently to managethe Party’s presence within the County? Montgomery: Provide training to the precinct chairs so that they can be more effective in bringing people together. Increase information to all conservatives in the county by using social media and email newsletters. I will continue to work closely with the Republican Party of Texas and state legislators to stay informed of issues.Do you have any additional thoughts you would like to include in the interview? Montgomery: Comal County is a great place to live and work. The Democrats have a plan to take over the smaller counties in Texas and we are on their list. We have to all work together to defeat their campaign. We will prevail by sticking to God’s principles, plan, and speaking the truth. I am aware of issues at the local, state, and federal level and how they affect Comal County. I have actively worked to address many issues important to our citizens and to find meaningful solutions.
