A plaque was presented on March 24, 2023.Our Savior Lutheran Church is all about finding family, serving community, and growing in God’s Word. They are one church with two campuses seeking to reach San Antonio with God’s Word. This busy and disconnected world can make us see how empty we are inside. Our Savior, Jesus, gives forgiveness and a new purpose by his life and his promises. As a church, they bring this forgiveness and new purpose to you by being a family, serving others, and growing in God’s Word. The “Far West Campus” meets every Sunday at 10am right in Alamo Ranch at John Hoffman Elementary School (12118 Volunteer Pkwy), and you’re invited! They hold regular Bible studies at homes in the area, and they are always looking for new ways to serve the community. You can find more information at oslwest-sa.org. They hope to see you soon!Looking To Celebrate Your High School Grad‘Simply the Best’OBy Flora Farrn March 29th and 30th, Northside ISD recognized their Educators of the Year from eachcampus. Woods. One of the 219 educators celebrated, Candace Olivares- English Department Coordinator at the new Sotomayor High School- was particularly moved by her award.“Honestly, I teared up...” the educator of 10 years said. “I have a supportive administration, an amazing department and fellow teachers that each have a hand in helping me achieve this. To win this award meant so much to me and I appreciate everyone that has helped develop me as a teacher and leader.”At the district celebration, the campus winners entered the auditorium to Tina Turner’s song ‘Simply the Best’ which was the same title the teachers were given for their hard work and passion. After 10 yearsof teaching, Olivares’ job and students’ success is still something that she continues to be passionate about on a daily basis.Olivares said, “I want [my students] to know anything is possible. I want them to feel comfortable when they walk into my classroom. I want them to feel eager to come to class. This creates learning and I approach each day with this mindset.”Scholars Passed NHA Certification ExamMr. Morales, Aiden M., Josue P., Lorna P.
